AFAIK a turbo or SC is a constant volume device at a given rpm, not a constant pressure device. Since the air will compress in front of the more restrictive heat exchanger you will get a reduced flow rate through it.

You are saying that you can blow the same amount of air through a 1" section of McDonalds straw as you can through a 10 foot length of the same cross section straw. This is not correct.
